On-site wedding entertainment + take-home favors by Victoria of Do Tell A Belle painting live watercolor guest portraits.
Bring the wow factor. I’ll paint quick, whimsical watercolor portraits of your guests during your reception or cocktail hour—fun to watch, unforgettable to take home.
How it works
- 5–10 minutes per guest (or couple). Loose, charming portraits—think keepsake, not formal studio art.
- 4×6 or 5×7 watercolor cards.
Add-on optional pre-styled with a light border or monogram option. - No worries if guests wander. I snap a quick reference photo and finish while they mingle.
- Pretty + practical. Each portrait is slipped into a protective sleeve for easy travel.

How It Works (Guest Flow)
Guest photos are captured before the ceremony (or during cocktail hour), so I can work quietly behind the scenes while guests enjoy the celebration. Finished portraits are ready to surprise them later in the evening.
- Smile & Snap – I take a quick reference photo of each guest (or couple) so they don’t need to sit still while I paint.
- Back to the Party – Guests return to enjoying the celebration while I work.
- Quiet Focus – I paint from the photo in a tucked-away space, ensuring consistency and detail without distractions.
- The Big Reveal – Finished portraits are slipped into protective sleeves for guests to pick up at my station.
This keeps the process smooth, lets me capture more guests, and ensures every portrait is a beautiful keepsake — without slowing down the fun of the reception.

FAQs — Live Wedding Painter (Guest Portraits)
How much does a live wedding painter cost?
Live wedding painting is considered a luxury service. In Palm Beach and South Florida, rates commonly fall in the $1,500–$3,500 range depending on event length, the number of portraits, and custom details. Packages typically cover several hours of on-site painting, local travel, and optional add-ons like custom borders, upgraded paper, or post-event studio finishes.
How many portraits per hour?
Typically 8–12 single portraits per hour (couples can be a bit faster if painted together).
What if someone won’t sit still?
I take a quick reference photo at the start so I can finish even if the guest steps away.
Can you paint couples or families?
Yes — couples are popular and efficient. Small families can be accommodated; timing per portrait is slightly longer.
Will the paint smudge?
I use fast-dry watercolor techniques and provide protective sleeves, so pieces are dry and safe before guests leave.
What do you need from us?
A small table, two chairs, good lighting, and access to an outlet (for a small fan or ring light). I arrive about one hour early to set up; booked hours are painting time only.
Giving Back Through Art
At Do Tell A Belle, creativity and community go hand in hand. I love using my art to support causes that make a difference — like painting live watercolor guest portraits at The New Studio for the Visual Arts’ Paint Pink event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a reminder that art can connect, uplift, and inspire hope — one brushstroke at a time.
