From swaying palms and coastal landmarks to lush botanical details, discover tropical wedding invites inspired by the natural beauty of Florida and beyond.

There’s something special about a tropical wedding. Perhaps it’s the warm ocean breeze, the sound of waves in the distance, or the lush greenery that makes every celebration feel like an escape.
As a watercolor artist and wedding stationery designer, I’m constantly inspired by the colors, textures, and natural beauty of coastal destinations. Living and creating in South Florida gives me endless inspiration, from historic Palm Beach architecture and iconic lighthouses to tropical foliage and the wildlife that makes our coastline so distinctive.
At Do Tell A Belle, I translate those details into original watercolor wedding stationery designed to tell a couple’s story.
Whether you’re planning an intimate beach ceremony, a romantic Palm Beach wedding, or a destination celebration surrounded by tropical gardens, your invitations are your guests’ first glimpse of what’s to come.
Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite tropical wedding invites, the inspiration behind the artwork, and how my semi-custom watercolor wedding invitations offer couples a beautiful balance of artistic design and personalization.
Tropical Wedding Invites Inspired by Palm Beach Elegance
When I think about Palm Beach weddings, I envision graceful architecture, beautiful blue skies, swaying palms, and a sense of understated elegance. That inspiration comes together in my watercolor wedding invitation suite featuring the Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach, Florida.

The invitation showcases a watercolor illustration of the chapel’s distinctive blue-and-white architecture, framed by two palm trees. I love how the architectural details give the invitation a sense of place while the palms introduce a relaxed tropical feeling.
I paired the artwork with soft blue stationery elements, including a botanical envelope liner, a coordinating RSVP card, and an oval die-cut details card.
The result is a destination wedding invitation suite that feels sophisticated, coastal, and personal without relying on traditional beach motifs.
For couples getting married at a distinctive venue, architectural watercolor artwork can be a beautiful way to celebrate the setting.

Coastal Wedding Invitations Inspired by the Jupiter Lighthouse
One of my favorite things about creating watercolor wedding stationery is incorporating details that make a destination instantly recognizable.

In South Florida, few landmarks are as iconic as the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. For this coastal-inspired wedding invitation design, I brought together a watercolor lighthouse illustration, tropical foliage, and one of my favorite ocean creatures: the sea turtle.
The invitation features the lighthouse as a delicate watercolor accent, while a coordinating details card incorporates elegant great white heron birds and lush mangrove coastal greenery.
But the playful finishing touch is the sea turtle-shaped RSVP card, which adds an unexpected element to the suite. I love incorporating die-cut shapes into wedding stationery because they introduce movement, personality, and a little surprise when guests open their invitations.
A tropical destination wedding doesn’t have to be formal or predictable. Sometimes, it’s the smallest creative details that make a suite memorable. This style is especially fitting for couples planning a beach wedding, waterfront celebration, or Florida destination wedding.
Botanical Tropical Wedding Invitations: Bird of Paradise and Palm Leaves
Not every tropical wedding takes place on the beach. Some of the most beautiful celebrations are surrounded by lush gardens, tropical flowers, and dramatic greenery.

For this botanical-inspired invitation suite, I wanted the artwork to capture that feeling of being surrounded by nature. The invitation features a hand-painted bird-of-paradise flower, with its distinctive orange and blue petals and sculptural green leaves.
I paired the artwork with soft green stationery, delicate blue-and-white stripes and palm trees, and a personalized monogram envelope liner. Coordinating pieces include an RSVP card, details card, and a second envelope liner featuring airy palm palm trees.
What I particularly love about this collection is its versatility. The design feels tropical without being overly themed, making it equally suited to a garden wedding, resort celebration, or destination wedding in a warm-weather setting.
It’s also a lovely example of how semi-custom watercolor wedding invitations can feel thoughtfully coordinated while giving couples the opportunity to personalize their stationery.
Soft Tropical Romance: Watercolor Caladium Wedding Invitations
Tropical wedding stationery doesn’t always need vibrant colors. Sometimes, a softer palette creates an even more romantic impression.

My caladium-inspired wedding invitation suite explores that quieter side of tropical design. The inspiration began with the beautiful shape and coloring of caladium leaves. Their delicate pink centers, green edges, and distinctive heart-shaped silhouettes have an almost painterly quality of their own.
I translated those characteristics into watercolor artwork featuring soft pinks and fresh green botanical shapes. The invitation is paired with a pale green envelope and coordinating watercolor envelope liner. An oval details card and leaf-shaped RSVP card introduce additional visual interest without overwhelming the design.
I particularly love the die-cut leaf RSVP because it echoes the artwork while adding a tactile, unexpected detail.
For couples drawn to garden weddings, romantic tropical settings, or a more refined botanical aesthetic, this collection offers a fresh alternative to traditional tropical wedding invitations.
Envelope Liners: The Little Detail That Makes a Big Impression
One of my favorite elements to design is the envelope liner. It’s often overlooked, but I think an envelope liner is one of the loveliest opportunities to introduce color, artwork, and personality into a wedding invitation suite.

Imagine opening a simple ivory envelope to discover lush watercolor monstera leaves inside. That unexpected moment immediately sets the tone for a tropical celebration.
For my tropical wedding stationery collections, I love exploring different approaches to envelope liners. A bold monstera leaf design can introduce rich greenery to a minimalist invitation. Delicate palm fronds create a softer, coastal look. And a striped botanical liner with a personalized monogram can bring a more tailored, resort-inspired feeling to the suite.
The beauty of envelope liners is that they can be expressive without requiring every stationery piece to be heavily decorated. For couples who appreciate subtle details, they offer a wonderful way to make an invitation feel more complete.

Semi-Custom vs. Custom Watercolor Wedding Invitations: Which Is Right for You?
Every couple has a different vision for their wedding stationery, and I believe there should be more than one way to achieve a beautiful, personal design.
Semi-Custom Watercolor Wedding Invitations
My semi-custom collections begin with original artwork I’ve already created. You select a design that speaks to your wedding style, and we personalize the stationery with your wedding details and the customization options available for that collection.

This approach is ideal for couples who love an artist-designed invitation suite but don’t need entirely new artwork commissioned for their wedding. It also offers a more accessible alternative to fully bespoke stationery.
Custom Watercolor Wedding Invitations
For couples dreaming of something entirely their own, I also offer custom watercolor wedding invitations.

Perhaps you’d love an illustration of your wedding venue, a meaningful coastal landmark, your favorite tropical flowers, or artwork inspired by a destination that holds special memories.
With custom design, we can explore those ideas together and create artwork specifically for your celebration. My original watercolor venue illustrations start at $500, with additional stationery design, printing, and finishing costs depending on the project.
I work closely with couples throughout the creative process, helping them make decisions about artwork, typography, colors, paper, and finishing details.
Custom wedding stationery is an investment in both the artwork and the experience of creating something personal.

Tropical Bachelorette Party Gifts
A tropical wedding celebration often begins long before the ceremony.

For brides planning a beach getaway, poolside weekend, or destination bachelorette party, tropical-inspired gifts can be a fun way to bring the theme into the festivities.
Consider coordinating welcome gifts, personalized keepsakes, or small accessories featuring tropical florals, palm leaves, and coastal-inspired colors.
I especially love the idea of carrying a consistent design theme through the different celebrations leading up to the wedding.
It’s a thoughtful way to make everything feel connected, from the bachelorette weekend to the wedding day.
Tropical Bridesmaid Proposal Gifts
Asking your closest friends to stand beside you is one of the sweetest moments of wedding planning.
For a tropical or destination wedding, bridesmaid proposal gifts inspired by the wedding location can make the occasion even more meaningful.
Think botanical artwork, beach-inspired details, and personalized stationery that reflects the celebration you’re planning.
Whether you’re putting together a bridesmaid proposal box or choosing a simple personalized gift, I love the idea of selecting something that feels connected to your wedding story.

When Should You Order Tropical Destination Wedding Invitations?
Destination weddings often require a little extra planning, especially when guests need to arrange travel and accommodations.
As a general guideline, couples planning a destination wedding should consider sending save-the-dates approximately 9–12 months before the celebration, particularly when international travel is involved.
Wedding invitations are often mailed around 3–4 months before the wedding, although your timeline may vary depending on the destination and travel requirements.
For semi-custom stationery, it’s important to allow time for personalization, proof approvals, printing, and mailing.
For fully custom watercolor wedding invitations, I recommend beginning the design conversation well in advance. Original artwork, design development, revisions, approvals, and production can take up to two months or longer depending on the complexity of the suite.
Starting early allows us to give the artwork and details the attention they deserve.
Your Wedding Story Begins with the Invitation
What I love most about designing watercolor wedding stationery is the opportunity to capture something meaningful.
It might be a historic chapel framed by palm trees, the familiar silhouette of a lighthouse, a vibrant bird-of-paradise flower, or the delicate colors of a tropical leaf.
Each detail becomes part of the story.
My goal is to create wedding stationery that feels like more than a collection of printed cards. I want your guests to open their invitations and immediately feel a connection to the celebration you’re planning.
Whether you’re looking for tropical wedding invites, a coordinated semi-custom destination wedding invitation suite, or completely custom watercolor artwork, I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
