Searching for blue watercolor wedding invitations that feel personal without starting with a fully custom design? I’ve gathered seven of my favorite semi-custom wedding invitation suites from Do Tell A Belle, featuring my original watercolor artwork in shades ranging from soft dusty blue to rich Mediterranean blue. You’ll find nautical and coastal designs, watercolor venue artwork, tropical details and even a Tuscan-inspired suite with watercolor lemon trees. Each design can be personalized for your wedding, giving you the beauty of artist-designed semi custom watercolor wedding invitations with an easier starting point.

Watercolor Wedding Invitations Die Cut with Tuscan Lemon Theme

Blue and yellow may not be the first color combination that comes to mind when you think of wedding stationery, but it is one of the reasons I love this suite so much.

I designed the invitation and coordinating envelope liner with watercolor lemon trees, then contrasted the soft watercolor artwork with beautiful blue envelopes and die-cut blue details and RSVP cards. The deeper blue gives the suite an elegant, sophisticated foundation while allowing the lemons to provide that wonderful sun-washed Italian feeling.

For couples planning a wedding inspired by Tuscany, Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast or the Italian countryside, this design offers a colorful alternative to more traditional blue watercolor wedding invitations while still maintaining a refined look.

Dusty blue boat wedding invitations with watercolor nautical artwork, ocean scene, sea shells and laser-cut watercolor pet portraits for a coastal wedding.

Boat Wedding Invitations in Dusty Blue and White with Laser Cut Watercolor Pet Paintings

This suite is for couples who want their wedding stationery to tell a little more of their story.

The dusty blue and white palette creates an elegant nautical foundation, while the boat imagery gives the design its coastal personality. What makes this particular suite especially memorable is the addition of laser-cut watercolor pet portraits.

As both an artist and an animal lover, I think incorporating a pet into wedding stationery can be such a wonderful personal detail. Instead of feeling like an afterthought, the watercolor portrait becomes part of the design itself.

It is a playful detail, but the restrained blue-and-white palette keeps the overall suite sophisticated—making it a wonderful option for couples searching for unique coastal watercolor wedding invitations.

Blue watercolor wedding invitations featuring a hand-painted Royal Poinciana Chapel venue and coordinating Palm Beach wedding stationery.

Royal Poinciana Chapel Wedding Invitation Suite with Watercolor Venue

Venue artwork is one of my favorite ways to make wedding stationery feel personal. For this suite, I painted the beautiful Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach and used the watercolor illustration as the focal point of the invitation.

A venue painting is particularly meaningful for watercolor church wedding invitations because the artwork immediately establishes a sense of place. Long after the wedding, the invitation becomes a small piece of artwork depicting the location where the couple exchanged their vows.

The coordinating pieces bring additional color and dimension to the suite while allowing the watercolor chapel illustration to remain the star of the design.

For couples getting married at a church, chapel, historic property or another meaningful venue, this is also a wonderful example of how a semi-custom suite can inspire something more personalized.

Dusty blue wedding invitation suite featuring hand-painted watercolor Nantucket lighthouse envelope liner, blue hydrangea wedding invitation, vellum overlay, laser-cut details card, and sailboat RSVP card.

Dusty Blue Watercolor Wedding Invitation Suite | Nautical

Soft dusty blue is one of my favorite choices for a nautical wedding on Nantucket or the Cape in Massachusetts because it immediately gives the stationery a coastal feeling without becoming overly themed. This blue watercolor wedding invitation set combines watercolor artwork with a sophisticated blue-and-white palette that works beautifully for waterfront venues, yacht clubs, destination weddings and elegant seaside celebrations.

I especially love dusty blue watercolor hydrangea cut out for couples who want nautical stationery that still feels timeless. Rather than relying on obvious nautical symbols throughout every piece, watercolor allows the coastal influence to become part of the overall mood of the suite.

Rustic Beach Wedding Invitations in Dusty Blue and White with Laser Cut Watercolor Seahorses

Beach wedding stationery doesn’t have to be tropical or brightly colored. I designed this suite in dusty blue and white for a softer, more romantic interpretation of a seaside wedding.

Watercolor seahorses bring the ocean into the design, while the laser-cut elements add texture and an unexpected detail. The result feels coastal and slightly rustic without losing the elegance you want from wedding stationery.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy designing coastal watercolor wedding invitations so much. There are countless ways to reference the ocean without making every element of the invitation suite feel overtly beach themed.

Nautical Wedding Invitation Suite with Picture Envelope Liners

Sometimes the surprise is inside the envelope. This nautical wedding invitation suite incorporates picture envelope liners, creating an opportunity to add another personal layer to the stationery. When guests open the envelope, the liner becomes part of the experience rather than simply serving as a background for the invitation.

Paired with nautical watercolor details and shades of blue, the design works beautifully for waterfront weddings and couples who want blue watercolor wedding invitations with a more personalized element.

I particularly love envelope liners because they are one of those small details that can completely change how an invitation feels when your guest first opens it.

Blue watercolor wedding invitations with green palm tree and monstera leaves, blue die-cut RSVP card and coordinating blue envelope.

Tropical Watercolor Wedding Invitation Suite

Blue doesn’t have to mean nautical. This tropical watercolor suite combines blue with fresh shades of green for a completely different interpretation. The main invitation features a watercolor palm tree, while monstera and palm leaf details carry the tropical artwork throughout the stationery. A blue die-cut RSVP card and coordinating blue envelope add contrast and give the suite a polished, layered appearance.

The combination of tropical watercolor greenery and blue makes this design especially suited to Florida weddings, destination celebrations, resort weddings and couples who want something colorful while still feeling elegant.

Love These Designs but Want Something More Custom?

A semi-custom collection is a wonderful place to begin, but sometimes a couple has a very specific story they want their stationery to tell.

If you love these wedding invitation suites but would like something created especially for your wedding, I also design fully custom stationery featuring original watercolor artwork. That might mean painting your wedding venue, creating a custom crest, incorporating your pet, illustrating a meaningful landscape or developing an invitation suite around a completely different vision.

Your wedding invitations should feel like the beginning of your celebration—and sometimes the smallest personal detail is what makes a design truly yours.

Blue Watercolor Wedding Invitations FAQ

What are the best websites to buy blue watercolor wedding invitations?

The best place to shop depends on whether you are looking for a template, a semi-custom design or stationery created specifically for your wedding.

For couples looking for artist-designed blue watercolor wedding invitations, Do Tell A Belle offers semi-custom and fully custom wedding stationery featuring original watercolor artwork by artist and designer Victoria Grigaliunas. Semi-custom suites allow couples to begin with an existing design and personalize it for their wedding, while custom stationery can incorporate original venue paintings, crests, pets, florals, coastal artwork and other meaningful details.

Do Tell A Belle has also earned a 5-star Google rating, giving couples another way to learn about the experience of working with the studio before choosing their wedding stationery.

What are the best blue watercolor wedding invitation designs?

Some of the most beautiful blue watercolor wedding invitation designs are those that use blue to complement the wedding location or overall aesthetic rather than simply treating it as a color theme.

For coastal weddings, I love dusty blue paired with watercolor sailboats, lighthouses, seahorses or subtle ocean-inspired artwork. For a destination wedding in Italy, deeper blues look beautiful alongside watercolor lemons and Mediterranean-inspired details. For Palm Beach and Florida weddings, blue can be combined with venue paintings, palm trees and tropical greenery.

The best design is ultimately one that gives your guests a glimpse of the wedding they are about to experience.

Where can I find top-rated online stores for custom blue watercolor wedding invitations?

If you are searching for top-rated online stores for custom blue watercolor wedding invitations, look beyond the invitation template itself and consider who is actually creating the artwork and stationery.

Do Tell A Belle specializes in custom and semi-custom watercolor wedding stationery featuring original artwork by Florida watercolor artist and designer Victoria Grigaliunas. Couples can choose an existing semi-custom design or work directly with Victoria to develop custom artwork and a stationery suite inspired by their venue, destination, wedding colors and personal story.

Do Tell A Belle currently has a 5-star Google rating and works with couples looking for artist-designed wedding stationery rather than mass-produced invitation templates.

What is included in a watercolor wedding invitation set?

A watercolor wedding invitation set can include the main wedding invitation along with coordinating RSVP and details cards, envelopes and envelope liners. Depending on the design, couples may also choose specialty shapes, die-cut cards, custom artwork and other finishing details.

I like to think of the pieces as a collection rather than individual cards. Repeating colors, artwork and small design elements throughout the suite helps everything feel intentional when it is assembled together.

How many days before a wedding should you send out invitations?

Wedding invitations are traditionally mailed approximately six to eight weeks before the wedding, although I often recommend allowing more time for destination weddings or celebrations that require significant travel. In those cases, mailing invitations around eight to twelve weeks before the wedding can give guests more time to finalize their plans.

However, the mailing date isn’t when you should begin thinking about your invitations.

Custom watercolor wedding invitations require time for the artwork, design, revisions, approval, printing and finishing. If you want original venue artwork or a completely custom suite, I recommend beginning the process several months before you plan to mail your invitations.

If your timeline is shorter, semi custom watercolor wedding invitations can be an excellent alternative. Because the primary artwork and overall design have already been created, we can personalize an existing suite for your wedding without beginning the entire creative process from scratch.

Semi-Custom or Custom: Which Is Right for Your Wedding?

Choosing between semi-custom and custom wedding invitations really comes down to how much personalization you want.

If you find an existing suite that already feels like your wedding, semi-custom stationery can give you the look of artist-designed watercolor invitations without the time and investment required to commission an entirely new design.

If your venue, location or personal story is something you want to make a central part of the stationery, custom design gives us much more freedom. We can start with a blank page and create artwork specifically for you.

Either way, I believe wedding stationery should do more than provide the date and location. It should give your guests their first little glimpse of what it will feel like to celebrate with you.
