My friend Jade got me all jazzed up for making my own nut milks. After experimenting with a few basic ideas, I will never buy store bought again. Homemade almond and cashew milk is so rich and creamy…not to mention versatile. Add in any of the following for added health benefits or just yummies: dates, cacao, vanilla, berries, Garden of Life Fitbiotic, maple syrup, mykind Golden Milk or even organic aloe plant (still experimenting with this one). Cashew milk is supper simple to make. You only need 2 ingredients (cashews and water) PLUS whatever you would like to add in. I added maple syrup, mykind Golden Milk and some Garden of Life Fitbiotic to help aid in weight loss/management… it was delicious.

Tip! Having trouble sleeping? Warm golden milk in the evening is so relaxing. I have a cup about a half hour before I go to bed at night. The turmeric is soothing and helps to alleviate my aches and pains.

Cashew Milk Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup raw organic cashews soaked in water overnight
5 cups of filtered water

Optional Add Ins: Add one or more of the following
1 packet Garden of Life Fitbiotic
1 scoop myKind Organics Golden Milk
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1-2 dates
1-2 tsp of cacao
1-2 tsp vanilla
fresh berries to taste

Directions
Soak cashews in water overnight in refrigerator. Drain out the water and add the cashews to a blender and blend on high for 1-2 minutes. You can strain your milk using a french press or cheese cloth. I find it is necessary with almond milk but not so much with cashew milk. Add filtered water and your choice of add ins. Below are some examples. I add Fitbiotic to all of my nut milks because it has no flavor and I reap the benefits of probiotics in my nutmilk.

Chocolate Cashew Milk: Add in cacao and maple syrup
Berry Cashew Milk: Add in a half of cup of berries and maple syrup
Golden Cashew Milk: Add in myKind Golden Milk, 1-2 dates and maple syrup
Vanilla Cashew Milk: Add in 1-2 tsp of vanilla and maple syrup
